2022-2023 Atrium application for new families

Applications will be accepted until Sunday, June 5th, 2022 - Application review begins Monday, June 13th, 2022

The St. Philomena Atrium at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes is pleased to offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd environments in: Level 1 (ages 3-6), Level 2 (ages 6-9), and Level 3 (ages 9-12).

Orientation sessions for new families will be scheduled in August, and families will be contacted with orientation session information after applications have been processed and sessions are assigned. Atrium sessions will begin the week of Monday, September 19, 2022 and conclude the week of Monday, May 22, 2023.

Sessions will take place on the following days and times in the St. Philomena Atrium located in O’Connor Hall:

  • Monday 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Level 1
  • Monday 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Level 1, Level 2
  • Tuesday 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Level 2, Level 3
  • Wednesday 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Level 1
  • Wednesday 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Level 1, Level 2 (Level 1 Children must be returning)
  • Wednesday 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Level 1, Level 2 (Level I children must be returning)
  • Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Level 1

To participate in the Atrium, children must be aged three by September 1st, 2022 and be fully toilet-trained. Please be aware that CGS catechists and assistants are not permitted to assist children with toileting.

The enrollment fee for the year is $100 per child, $150 for two children, or $175 for three or more children. Partial scholarships are available. Fees are payable by check to Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes with CGS in the memo line. Please do not send payment until you have received confirmation that your child is assigned to a session.

Completion of the form below in a timely manner will greatly assist us in processing your child’s Atrium application for the coming year. Application review will begin after the application period has closed and children will be assigned to sessions based on the following considerations:

  • Catechist availability
  • Parent Atrium schedule (if serving as a catechist or assistant)
  • Session capacity
  • Submission date/time
  • Sibling group registration
  • Child’s age

Supporting the St. Philomenat Atrium

To adequately serve the Atrium children, assistance is needed beyond the catechist's and assistant's work during sessions. Families are asked to prayerfully discern the best way to contribute 10-15 hours in maintaining the Atrium. Some ways you may be called on to help are taking home a bag of greeting cards to cut out designs for the children's Prayer card making, coming in between sessions to assist the Catechists in restoring the environment, mending materials etc.
